Cardinals Scratchers campaign

For the second year in a row, the Arizona Lottery and the Arizona Cardinals teamed up for the Arizona Cardinals Scratchers® ticket. This year, we were able to use our newly appointed Chief Fun Officer, Windfall Willie, and his beloved sidekick, Derek, to help get football and Lottery fans alike pumped up for another year of winning.

Up until this point, we had only seen Willie inside his office. So when it came time to write this script, I really wanted to show him in a new environment. And what better place to put him than at a tailgate party in front of the stadium? 

We worked with the amazing Alex Grossman, John Ennis (Willie) and Michael Margetis (Derek) for this spot and it's one of my all-time favorites.

For print, we wanted to create a visual representation of our "bring the game home" idea. To be honest, we struggled for a bit. 

I remember walking into our CD's office and saying, "what if it was just like, Willie, Derek and Big Red in a super long shopping cart?" It was one of those ideas that hits you and makes you say, "yeah, duh." 

Bringing this to life was such a cool experience. Working with our incredible photographer, Jesse Rieser, and production guru, Pete Van Vilet, we were able to practically create the shopping cart by welding together sections from about three other carts.
